Address whitelisting is an optional security feature that allows users to pre-approve and save trusted wallet addresses for faster and safer withdrawals. By adding an address to your whitelist, you streamline the withdrawal process while maintaining strong security.
To whitelist an address, or to withdraw to a non-whitelisted address, you’ll be required to verify the transaction using two codes:
- A verification code sent to your email
- Your 2FA (two-factor authentication) code
Once an address is whitelisted, future withdrawals to that address will only require your 2FA code, making it quicker and more efficient to send funds to addresses you use often. For this reason, whitelisting is recommended for wallet addresses that you use regularly.
If you prefer not to use whitelisting when withdrawing, you can continue to verify addresses manually during each withdrawal by selecting the "Manual Entry" option in the withdrawal flow.
How can I whitelist a withdrawal address?
There are two ways to whitelist a withdrawal address within your Netcoins account:
- Through "Settings" on the web app: This method allows you to manually add a whitelisted address. (Note: This option is only available on the web app.)
- During the withdrawal process: You can choose to whitelist the address you're withdrawing to as part of the withdrawal flow. (Available on web app and mobile app.)
How to Whitelist an Address from Your Settings (Web App Only)
Click the gear icon (Settings) in the top right corner of the web app, then select "View all settings".
Next, scroll down to the Saved Wallet Addresses section of your account and click "View all" next to Crypto.
Then click "Add New Wallet" to enter a new address. If the wallet address is already listed, you can simply click "Whitelist this address".
Next, select the cryptocurrency you want to add the wallet address for.
Enter the wallet address you will be withdrawing to, along with the label and destination tag if required. After verifying that all information is correct, select "Continue" to proceed.
Warning
⚠️ Cryptocurrency withdrawals are irreversible. Once the coins are sent, they cannot be pulled back. Please always make sure that the destination wallet address is correct and trustworthy.
Once you have confirmed all prompts and safety acknowledgements, you will be prompted to enter two codes. The first code will be sent to your email, and the second code is your account’s two-factor authentication (2FA) code.
IMPORTANT:
- The email code expires after 2 minutes. If you do not enter this code within 2 minutes, you can request a new one by selecting "Send email code".
- After requesting a code, please wait a couple of minutes before requesting another to ensure you use the correct code each time.
Once the codes have been successfully entered, a small pop-up will appear in the bottom right corner confirming that the process was successful.
You have now successfully whitelisted your cryptocurrency withdrawal address!
